Best Treatment for Hiccups?

Can someone please tell me the best treatment for hiccups? I need something simple and easy to do.

Thanks in advance.
Answer:
Whenever I get the "cups" what always works for me is drinking a glass of water upside down...yup it works for me.others will try a spoon full of sugar. Stay away from soda. If you need more instruction I'd be happy to share.
Hold your breath.
I usually just hold my breath or punch myself in the chest
i got this from my grandmother when i used to get bad ones during summers at her house:

1) get a glass of cold water.
2) drink ten swallows as fast as you can.
3) take a deep breath -- this will cause you to burp.

*it's important that you burp. if you don't, it won't work. i'm sure there's a scientific reason why, but i don't know what it is. the burping seems to put whatever got off track to cause the hiccups back on.

nothing else except this has ever worked for me.
1. take a deep breath
2. yell out loud "HICCUPS! GO AWAY!"

just kidding.

drink water, or hold your breath, i guess.
light a match drop it in the cup of water and drinnk immed. something in the sulfur -

or bend over and drink a glass of water
My grandma made us suck on a limon.
Breathe into a paper bag, drink a glass of water,or have someone sneak up on you and scare the crap out of you. They all work but everyone is diff.Good Luck
Greetings; This works always have and always well, stand up,with a glass of water, bend over at waist,as far down as you can,now drink the water.,drink as much as you can bent,Here we go ,no more Hiccups; In Faith We3inc
rub your tounge on that soft spot towards the back on the roof of your mouth . it works!
pure will, just use your mind.

to learn to do it, take in a breath while hiccuping then hold it. concentrate on holding up your diaphragm. after a certain amount of time when you feel certain its gone let the breath out and relax your diaphragm.

one day you could just hiccup once or twice and just swallow
and its gone.

if you have read, almost everyones responses require holding the breath and focus on the diaphragm in one way or another.
Whenever you have the hiccups it is caused by your diaphragm muscle spasming, so when you hold you breath you relax this muscle and the hiccups will go away.
What works for me also involves a glass of water; fill up the glass, take a deep breath and EXHALE completely, and then slowly drink the water until you're almost gasping for air. Then stop, breathe, and usually the hiccups are gone.
Wrap the opening of a brown paper bag around your mouth and breathe deeply into it for a few times. Hope it works for your sis.

Another trick is, hold your breath while trying to slowly swallow your saliva for as many times as you can. By the time you need to take another breath, your hiccups will most probably be gone. Good luck!
This is a method that genuinely works. Although holding your breath or deep breathing stabilise your diaphragm, the occassional spasm (hiccup) can still occur. There is a theory that hiccups are continued subconsciously, even though you wish to stop them. Drinking water works, but most effectively when you take many small sips without stopping. The swallowing reflex stabilises your diaphragm and subconsciously takes your mind off it. At least, I think so. It works, anyway. Give it a shot- it's the most reliable method I know to date.
drink water and not kep throat dry
Lean forward until your head is upside down and drink a glass of water upside down. It sounds stupid, but I'm dead serious. :D
the best cure is water..
Drink hot water or warm water.
Make sure the hot water is not extremely hot.

It works everytime for me.

Don't drink cold water or other cold drinks.
