Can a urinary tract infection cause swollen lymph nodes?

I have UTI symptoms (frequent urination with strong urge to go, burning while urinating). Also the lymph nodes in my neck and armpits are tender and swollen. Are these two things related? Is there anything else I should worry about?
Answer:
An STD- go to a doctor.

Can a stroke kill someone? How many can they have? My mom has had four.?

Answer:
a stroke can kill someone if the blood vessel has ruptured when it was occluded, like what happens in aneurysms. but if not, the patient only has to suffer through the complications of stroke like paralysis, loss of sensation and so on.

if your mom has had four strokes already, it might mean that the affected blood vessel has a clot that sometimes occludes the blood vessel (when she's having the stroke) and sometimes has blood passing through it towards the brain tissues.

ask your doctor about warfarin and heparin if you want. they are known to dissolve blood clots.

i hope your mom will be ok, though. please know that i'm praying for her.
Yes it can. Depends on the person, their general health, and the extent of each stroke.
Stroke or Cerebrovascular Accident as it is called causes death only if a major area of the brain is affected or specialized area of the brain is affected. For example,if the middle cerebral artery is blocked it causes death. If there is a major intracerebral bleed it causes death. If there is a bleed in the medulla oblongata it causes instantaneous death. Then it also depends on the medical management.Poorer the management, more likely is death the outcome.
Some people have smalll brain bleeds (trans-isthschemic attacks, or TIA's) their whole life, and are never diagnosed with stroke (cerebral vascular accident). I hope your Mom recovers well and regains some abilities that may be lost to multiple strokes. Listen to the therapists and help her as much as you can. It will lead to better recovery.
A TIA (mini - stroke) can happen several times a day. It is temporary interruption of blood flow to part of the brain that destroys no brain cells and causes no permanent disability.

There are many different types of strokes. My mom had so many strokes over the years that we lost count. She died at the age of 85 not due to a stoke but a heart attack.

Have your mom take her blood thinner and never miss her PT test (test to see if her blood is getting to thick or to thin).

Can a spider bite on the head cause hair loss?

I have a large bald spot on the back of my head right above my neck. The doc said it was not connected with my pregnancy (I had a baby 7 months ago).. It itches often and there seem to be some bumps in it. If I got a bite of some sort, could it cause hair loss?
Answer:
Hi There,

I am not a doctor, but I do know a lot about hair loss and don't think a spider bite can cause permanent hair loss. I do, however, know that the stress of giving birth typically causes woman to temporarily lose a respectable amount of hair. If I were you I would consult another physician immediately because it could be a form of Alopecia or other skin disease causing your hair loss.

I unfortunately lost my hair a long time ago, but that's to be expected since I am a male. To correct it I had a hair restoration back in July and couldn't happier with the results. Myself and another guy (Torrance) blog about our hair restorations at BattleAgainstBald.com. In addition, the blog also provides a wealth of information on hair loss and all the other methods used to correct it.

Check out the blog, as I'm sure it will answer all of your questions.

Best,
Seth
My first guess would be tinea capitis (i.e., ringworm: the same fungus that causes athletes foot if on your feet can cause hairloss if on your scalp). Worth exploring.

Check the following website to see if this describes your lesion:

http://www.emedicinehealth.com/ringworm_...
ummm...i really dont think so. it's genetics, stress, diet, etc. definitely not spiders

Can a single dose of cocaine, ecstasy, heroin, or marijuana kill you instantly?

a single dose.. or hit... i need it for a drug booklet... thanks in advance!
Answer:
Marijuana doubtful. But the others? Absolutely.
It can.

Though it is statistically unlikely.
yes it depends with marijuana. there's this hybrid form of cocaine called bazooka and if your not a hardcore junkie it is known to kill on the first try.

Can a psychologist report you if you tell them about a drug addiction?

If you reveal to your therapist that you have a drug addiction, can they report it to police ?
Answer:
No matter how old you are, they can't at all. you can sue them if they do. they can only encourage you to come out with your addiction, which is probably the better thing to do anyway. Unless you say you want to blow up some building then they can tell someone. something that endagers someone else's life, i think then they can tell someone else about it.
no, but if you are underage they can tell your parents i think.
Whenever you talk to a counsellor, it is strictly confidential. However, if there is child abuse/neglect they must report it.

If you have children and are drug addicted, they will have to report it.
No
patient doctor confidentiality...

haven't you ever watched the sopranos?
No, they cannot report that to the police. However, they can report you to the police if they find out you're exhibiting protential physical danger to yourself and others. You know what the police will then do to you.

Can a person use a catheter without the help of a professional?

Can someone buy one and learn how to use it or is it strictly limited to professional practitioners? Don't answer if you don't have a clue.
Answer:
I wouldn't want to try it. I had one for about three weeks and hated every minute of it. I can't imagine installing it myself.
Some people actually have to perform self catherization, but it is very important to know the correct procedures, the urinary tract is highly prone to infections.

Can a person get addiction help after six oclock in the evening.?

My boyfriend admits to having a problem. Is there help for him. He works everyday till six then it takes him forty five minutes to get home. He doesnt have the luxury of being able to take off time from work to get help. Yet he admits he has a problem. He has tried to work through it hisself and no luck.
Answer:
Yes, he can. Call your county hospital. They generally have after hours counselors, or can direct you to someone who does.

AA and Narcotics anonymous often have evening meetings. The hospital can put you in touch with them as well.
"God" is available 24 h per day

Can a mother body be kept "alive" to support an ongoing pregnancy?

What kind of death to the mother allows this option to be available
Answer:
If a mother has a stroke, embolism, or has been involved in an accident that leaves her brain dead, but otherwise physically viable, then there have been cases where the mother's body is sustained until such time as the fetus gains enough uterine maturity to be delivered via C section, and then the mother is allowed to expire.

This choice however is ONLY ever made by the family, never by doctors, unless the mother had no other direct relatives...and there was no predetermined directive on file.
not sure what you are asking. if you are considering suicide seek help immediately.

but if you are dealing with an illness that could cause death before the baby is born, please talk to your dr. or a health professional.
It's been done. Usually a brain injury. Life support can keep the body going until the child is ready for delivery.
I can't imagine that it would be possible because the baby takes so much from the mother's body. The only time I have heard of it has been in fictional instances.
the mother will be in a coma and not know nothing as well as being brain dead=the body will be kept functioning until the baby can safely be born
I'm not absolutely sure, but I thought that, if a woman is brain dead, that extraordinary means could be used to keep her body functioning to sustain the pregnancy.

You should verify this with an OB.
Why do you ask?
It's been done for real, but it's a lucky baby that makes it.
No, after so long your body will reject it, the body will foce to go in to labor, or their has been cases where they coat it like a cocoon with enamle to protect the body from a forgin object. I learn this in Human Biology class

Can a fever of 103-104 kill you?

my friend is sick. shes 16 and has a 103-104 fever. does she need special meds or is she gonna be ok if she rests for a day?
Answer:
give her paracetamol to start cooling the temp %26 call the doctor, at that high, a convulsion can happen
She needs a doctor's attention now. 104 degree fevers can cause permanent brain damage. Go immediately to the nearest hospital.
No, I had a fever of 103.8 just last week. She may need some tylenol to lower her fever. I especially recommend taking tylenol if her fever goes above 104. She will most likely be fine in a few days.
Its usualy not the fever that kills you but the medication that you take. When you have a fever that high your body becomes susceptable to different things like some of the chemicals in flu medication. Your best bet is to ride it out =/
even ppl with 101 go to the doctor and she's 104. don't listen to other ppl cause tylenol doesn't always work. go to the doctor and the medicine he prescibes will fix her the fastest.
Your question is "can the high fever kill?" Perhaps you should find out what caused the high fever. It could be serious.
A body temp of 104 can't kill u .. the maximum temperature a body can tolerate is upto 108 ... but usually u don't get upto that level unless it's a heatstroke ... and u would die of dehydration before of just the temperature.

Apart from speaking of dying , ur friend is sick . Every fever has a localizing sign such as a sore throat or a cough or a wound infection or even a rash or just a diarrhoea . but since u have not said anything like that .. it could be a fever withouht a localizing sign which is usually attributed to viral fever ... in which case she would be back to normal in 2 to 3 days ..

My advice to you is to up her on some over the counter drugs like paracetamol 500 mg every 4 hours .. and try this for a day or 2 ... if she does'nt get better or the fever persists or if she develops any localizing sign take her to a doc

cheeeerio ...

NOTE : ( fever leading to convulsions is called febrile seizures which occurs in age groups of 3 months to 6 years . and will not occur in a 16 year old girl unless the cause of the fever is a brain infection such as encephalitis )
My 12 yr old had that temp last weekend.
She also had a sore throat.
The doctor reminded me that she can have Motrin or Advil and then two hour later Tylenol,
That really helped . She felt very cold[ from the fever ] and i did ,manage to get the flannel PJ off and take away a huge warm blanket and replace them with cooler choices. That also helped.
I also had a cool cloth on her head,
The next day she was fine.
If a fever that hi continues, it is time to get to the doctor,If a fever that hi is combine with a sore neck- that is danger time.

Give her a day or two.If nothing helps - go to the doctor. Make sure she is drinking lots of fluids.
Good luck
No, that too is a urban legend. NO fever can kill you, actually. 104 is about regular, 106 is pushing it. The worst a high fever has ever done is caused seizures, and NOT brain damage. The seizures are seen by doctors as harmless as well, and also cannot cause brain damage. A fever by itself is quite harmless.
Asprin can lower a fever, but you might want to worry about what is causing a fever first. If it's something serious, like Strep, you might want to see a doctor.
tell her to take tylenol and head to the doctor - she could have the flu - or a very serious infection

Can a employer ask your doctor about an long term illness.does the doctor patient agreement .Even with consent

Employer wants to talk to my GP with my consent?
Does the paitent/doctor confidentiality prohibite this BMA has said that this is in the doctor charter and is classed as a law
Cheers
Keith
Answer:
Okay, you need to research HIPA. It is a privacy act which does not allow employers to require employees to discuss their ailments with their employers. It should be sufficient to provide a doctors note that you are under their care.
In the event that a hardship is created or you are unable to perform the main/ essentail functions of the job, then the employer has the right to terminate employment.
Your employer needs to decide if your case has created a hardship on their business. If it has not, then they should try to work with you. They cannot require you to sign a consent, call asking your friends , go to your home to check on you, ask your neighbors, or do anything that invades your right to privacy concerning your health. Hope that helps. Good luck!
Nope, doctor, if given consent can pass out information. Medical insurance companies do this all the time.
If you have given your consent, the doctor should be able to talk to the employer.
If you give consent then yes they can but not without prior written authority from you. If you have an ongoing problem the employer can get you to take a medical with their approved dr

Can a doctor's office refuse to see a patient for nonpayment?

Answer:
Some can.
Private MD offices can
ER's in general can't
Public clinics can't (your state defines 'public clinic' so it depends on where you live)
I think they can unless you are in cardiac arrest or something if it's a private practice. ER's however, cannot turn anyone away.
Unfortunately, they can.
It depends. If the doctor is in the midst of treating you for a specific illness he is already involved in, no they cannot. It would be considered unethical.. BUT if you go back at a later date for a different reason, and have a past due balance, they can refuse treatment. Dr.'s in private practice are not free clinics. Its a business. If its life threatening he cannot turn you away once he has accepted you as his patient. BUT he can fire you as a patient if he wants to and then does not have to treat you. Its a sticky situation. You have to be careful in these situations. I say pay your doctor. They deserve to be paid. Make payment arrangements, but don't just expect them to treat you for free. Its a service. You don't go to the grocery store and expect free food, why would you expect free medical care?

Can a doctor forcefully inject medication, when I admantly told him I did not want any drugs in my system?

Answer:
You don't say how old you are.if you are under 18, then the answer would be yes. If not, then I don't think they can do that against your wishes. What is the drug?
Er no.
It depends. Were you dying? violent? distressed?
Otherwise, sue him!
Only if you seem mentally unstable:-) Details, we need details!!

Can a blood test detect heart disease?

Answer:
Yes...there are certain tests in blood such as enzymatic diagnosis. It can detect certain cardiac enzymes when present can represent certain heart disease . Cardiac markers or cardiac enzymes are proteins from cardiac tissue found in the blood. These proteins are released into the bloodstream when damage to the heart occurs, as in the case of a myocardial infarction.

SGOT and LDH were used to assess cardiac injury. Then it was found that disproportional elevation of the MB subtype of the enzyme creatine kinase (CK) was very specific for myocardial injury. Current guidelines are generally in favor of troponin sub-units I or T, which are very specific for the heart muscle and are thought to rise before permanent injury develops.

Go see a medical technologist or hematologist to have your blood tested
NO but if you or your partner were to rip out your heart you could check for yourself
Yes, bloodwork can detect heart disease. They will draw a tube of blood and check the enzyme levels in your blood, with this they can also tell if you've had a heartattack. My advice get it checked ASAP!! My husband lives with heart disease and at least if you know what is going on you know what signs you will need to look for .
Yes, certain blood tests can detect if a person has a heart disease. Heart monitors, ECG's and other scans will give best results since there are so many kinds of heart conditions.
It's been claimed that a CRP (c reactive protein) test can be an indicator of heart disease. CRP is a screening test and the results indicate that some type of inflammation is occurring but not what the cause is. Cholesterol and high blood pressure are probably more clinically significant indicators of heart disease. Cholesterol tests are a type of blood test but even a high cholesterol level alone is not sufficient to diagnose heart disease.

Can a 4 yr old child be bi-polar?

My four year old seems very extreme in her mood swings. She is either manic where she's laughing constantly for no apparent reason or she's throwing a tantrum. There seems to be less and less time that she's "normal" and not at one end of the spectrum or the other.
Answer:
Does she have any consistency in her life?
Bi-polar is not something you develope you are born with it so yes a four year old can be bi-polar. Just like people are born with ADD or ADHD same for bipolar people.
Well, I don't know. I do know that working with children, I have been with a bi-polar six year old. I don't know how long she has been diagnosed. I'd ask your pediatrician about it if you are concerned.

If she is bi-polar, you have a rough time ahead. I know the child I spoke of continually got behavior reports because of hitting other children and was kindly told to leave the program once she hit a group leader. Good luck.
Sounds really normal for a 4 year old. We have a 3 year old, and she's like that as well. She throws tantrums because she thinks if she screams long enough, she'll get her way. It's important not to be too flexible when that behavior starts. Overtired kids also laugh (maniacally) or cry (tantrums) very easily. We stopped naps when she was about 2, but we've reinstituted them now. She's so active now that she needs the extra sleep during the day to keep her happy.
LMAO. MOST 4 year olds are...
Have her evaluated for autism, or PDD. (pervasive developement disorder) My nephew did not exhibit signs of autism until he was four and was diagnosed at that time, first with PDD, because they were unsure due to his advanced developement...he talked etc. then was diagnosed later that year as autistic as he began to regress with everything.

I am not trying to be the bearer of bad news, just some food for thought.

However, I have four girls ages 1,2,4,6 and they are all like what you describe...
Good Luck!

Can a 14 year old go on jenny craig?

I wanna start this summer.
Answer:
ya you can! Hey, my little sister of 12 years old joined Curves! I've heard of this happening all over! Good luck and if you need some tips let me know? My mother did jenny
i don't think so... but you can go to the gym...
you shouldn't really as you haven't finished growing yet =you might take a sudden spurt growth and mess things all up
Yes, Jennycraig has an a program for adolescents (see web link provided).

Good luck.
how about you try this one on your own little one? jenny craig is for older ladies. you are still young, and all the info you need is on the net. try it for yourself first.
The thing with Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers is the food is typically loaded with sodium (salt), a great preservative, which is bad. Candy is pure sugar and empty calories.

Do a search on foods with a low glycemic index. Basically, eat fresh foods and eat like a diabetic. Cut out the McDonalds, etc. and the frozen foods/TV dinners. If it is processed or packaged and has to go from the fridge to the microwave, it is no good.

Stick with fresh fruits, vegetables, and lean meats (fish and chicken). You need good foods high in nutritional value.

You leave out why you want to do this... perhaps you should talk to your doctor about your dieting goals and seek guidance on calorie intakes and a fitness routine (walk, bike, swim - for example).

I find it is easier to plan my meals once a week, make everything on a weekend and put my food in containers. The plus side to this is I only mess my kitchen once and have to clean it once. Also the food is there when I'm ready to eat or I can grab something to stick in the fridge at work, snack on in the middle of the day. If I know I'm not going to be home for a length of time I can put my food in a cooler and take it with me.

Can a person die of heart attck becuse . .while watching soccer and his fan team loose/win at final match ?

Answer:
Absolutely, if you become overexcited by anything, and have a cardiac problem, it can cause your death.
Yes, I heard about that
If a person has coronary arery disease and it is severe and unknown to that person excitement . anger etc could progress an attack. Seek medical advice soon if this is a real concern
A person can have a heart attack for many reasons,
at any time--including a soccer game for all seasons.
And, yes; heart attacks are frequently fatal.

Good luck at your, er... game. (And take care.)
Yes
Hi! Heart attack can occur at any moment, anywhere and at any occasion. It does not chooses when to attack. It's often very sudden. For more information on heart attack condition, you may visit this websites:

Hope you'll find them informative.
Yes that can definately happen. If somebody has a bad heart %26 they get overly excited then they can have a heart attack. The heart attack would have happened anyway but probably at another time. Bad luck hey? Make sure you look after yourself %26 this won't happen to you...
Absolutely. Any major stressor to the heart and its operation(shock, excitement, strong emotions, etc) can trigger a heart attack in a person that is predisposed to an attack.

Cam anxiety cause other problems?

like stomach ulcers? has anyone ever got them from it. i have anxiety really bad
Answer:
No. anxiety is nothing to do with ulcers. Anxiety is a psychological problem. When you are in anxiety, you forget to take food, or you may not feel hungry. Without sufficient food to digest, enzymes secreted in intestine causes over acidity, over acidity results in intestinal ulcers.
Yes - worry will cause ulcers.
I have anxiety and it causes a lot of stomach problems. I take a lot of pepcid to help me out.
Yes anxiety can lead to alot of things...not sure in general what...but health problems do arise.
Anxiety turns to deep fear which turns to anger. Mixing these three is the cause of many physical problems.
Yes, Anxiety can be the cause of several problems.
ANY medication can cause side effects. I have had friends that have been on low dose anxiety meds for years with no long term side effects. You can find negative affects to any situations. Give low dosages a try.
anziety if really bad an left untreated can cause alot of problems depression, stomach problems, eating disorders from making yourself sick, all sorts of different things. if you have really bad anziety my recommendation is go see a psychiatrist like i did they will talk you through the steps you can take there are medications to relax you and therepy that you can try all sorts of options. best of luck
yeah it could cause thous , along with stress disorder . leading into heart failur.

Calorie burns slower when you watch TV, so.?

So, is that the same when you listen to music or read?
Answer:
Not sure what your question is.
I would imagine. I do't know for sure, but in all cases your not performing a physical activity.
Are you just sitting when listening, as you would with TV, or are you moving to the beat?
Activity increases metabolism. And the faster you move,......
listening to music boosts your calorie burn because you react internally to music and are more likely to move in some way while listening to it.

reading a book you use the same amount of calories as watching tv.
unless you start tapping your foot while you read...

Calling all funeral directors or morticians?

Have any cool stories? What state do you live in? Have you been doing it long? Do you like the work? (Serious answers only)
Answer:
In college I attended an embalming.
The different temperature of the liquid injected caused the corpse to 'move'.
It then let out a 'gasp' of air. (More like a burping sound.)
Kind of boring for what you had in mind though, I'm sure.
Next time, ask about any necrophiliac experiences.
How morbid is this wanting "cool stories"? What death is cool?
I worked in the funeral industry for about 5 years. there are no cool stories or anything scary either. it was a job that required dignity and respect for the dead. think about it.the funeral director is the last person that does something for the deceased and it is our goal to make them look the best they can.
if you like to help people then a job in a funeral home could be very rewarding for you. i loved it.
Kathleen from mo
What kind of ghoulish stories would you like to read.
There is nothing morbid to tell..

I have been undertaking for about 6 years.

I live in Southern California

I LOVE what i do. it is very rewarding when you can make things a little easier for them during such a bad time
If you are serious, read,"The American Way of Death", "Stiff, what to do with a dead body". Both are available on Amazon.com

Caffeine or possible heart problem?

Last Monday about 2 weeks ago, i stayed up all night drinking pepsi. After that, I was jittery, nervousness, heart palpations. After that, the heart palpations went away and my heart was beating normal. But my mind was cloudy and it was fatique all day long. The symptoms lasted but got a little bit better each day. Yesterday, i drink 2 glasses of pepsi. And then i waited a hour and went to bed. I couldnt sleep that much last night. I was up and down. So when i get up this morning around 7 i notice i had heart palpations and jitteryness, nervousness and anxiety. The anxiety and that was prob from me thinking about it and being worried lol. But when im focused on something i barely notice them. I was wondering could it be from the caffeine? causing this? I've also had like cramps and gas.
Answer:
Yes some people are more succeptible to caffeine than others.

Severe lack of sleep, alcohol, or any of the drinks with xantine derrivatives - found in cofee, tea, chocolate - all combined can precipitate arrythmias.

Sometimes people will mix alcohol with coca-cola in order to be more social and stay awake during overnight parties. This can trigger a collapse from arrythmias, to later regain consciousness. Others are less senitive and get away with living "la vida loca".

just stayaway from stimulants. If the palpitations persist, see a doctor. Even some heart problems can be relatively mild.
The caffeine along with sugar will do ALL that to you. It's highly unlikely you have a heart problem.

caffeine causes nervousness, jitters, heart palpitations, sleeplessness, bloating, cramps and gas.

Sugar causes jitters, fuzzy mind, fatigue, gas sometimes cramps.

Mix em together and overdo it and there you go.
Yes. It is made of sugar and caffeine..

Caffeine will definitely do that to you and the sugar is only making it worse. Soda is something that should be drank in moderation... not a few a day, especially before bed. Of course you wont be able to sleep! The caffeine also dehydrates you. You should consider laying off the soda for a while and when you do drink it, remember moderation. There is nothing nutritional (or good) about soda.
The simple answer is YES!
Thankfully I never drink Pepsi, cola, or coffee however IF I need to be part of the 'wide awake club' as I have Arthritis, so things like early morning Doctors appointment, one sip and I am wide awake.
Nice to have something to count on as a pick you up! You never know how life will turn out, so best to keep something in reserve.

Caffeine alternative?

I'm always tired in the morning, but unfortunately I need to stay away from caffeine, as it triggers migraines for me. Does anyone know of an alternative to caffeine to help pick me up in the mornings?
Answer:
yerba mate tea, has something similar to caffeine but, lowers blood pressure, actually helps you sleep and has something similar to caffeine but not the helaht risks and you dont get the withdrawel sypmtoms ( Cafeine CRAAAAASH!!!!)
go for run or do a bit of exercise. splash cold water on your face or take cold shower.
ephedrine, sugar, psuedoephedrine, ritalin, adderal, desoxyn, amphetamines, methamphetamine, cocaine, etc
Plenty of water, try buying bottled and put in the fridge.Eat a proper breakfast.it's not hard my friend to look after yourself
it would be better if youd drink tea
Eating an apple will wake you up in the morning. So instead of having your "morning coffee" have your Morning Apple. Seriously, try it, and if it works for you then e-mail me with your success story, please :-)

Hugs and Cheers
An apple is the better to wake you up in the mornings than a coffee and have a cuppa tea instead of coffee :-)

Buying meds online?

I just got a prescription of Adderall from my doctor and I have health Ins. I was wondering is there a place online where I can order more than just a 30 day quantity with my prescription.and how does that effect when I can get another one from my doctor. Also, do online pharmacies accept health ins...? I dont know-I'm new at this! Thanks
Answer:
Adderall is a controlled substance that requires a new prescription every thirty days. You can't get more than a thirty day supply at one time. Be careful of online pharmacies. Many of them are just fronts to get your personal information. They usually charge higher prices, and some people have questioned whether or not they are legal.
Call your ins. co. and ask if they have a mail service. Or next time you get a new script you can mail it to one of the online pharmacies.

Butt Wiping Etiquette?

My nephew wipes his butt back to front, and my brother doesn't think there is anything wrong with that, I've always been under the impression that it's unhealthy. Who's right and why?
Answer:
For guys it does not matter, only that you do a good job. However for females it is imperative that they wipe from the taint back all the way. If they wipe back to front they get poopies in their wazu and that will cause an infection of the wazu.
I think that mainly goes for females not real sure though.
For boys i don't think there's a big difference but on the other hand girls need to go from front to back to keep that crap out of their other parts.
You are correct. You should wipe front to back. You do not want to get feces in the penis or vagina. You'll get an infection.
WTF? Who cares...

The following Tips that Physical Teachers give out to girls

1. Never walk alone in the dark
2. Always Wipe from Front to Back
3. Never ever believe anyone who tells you that shaving your pubic hair will rid you of crab infestation.

Butt Injections?

My friend and I was just thinking about getting the butt injections..to get a more plump butt. I was wondering if anyone knew if it is legal, and what are the side effects. How long does it lasrt? I dont wated to exercise to get a butt and I dont want implants. Serious Answers Please!
Answer:
girl please. you don't need to do that, what you need to do is squats. Squats will take what you got and lift it up into a nice round booty.

Trust %26 believe...
a good spanking will do the same thing
butt implants? are you serious? just go on a Mcdonalds binge
whhahahahahahahahaht!
Never heard of them,Is it a Black thing?
i dont know about puttin stuff in my butt..but lots of cool stuff comes outta my butt. i used to eat a lot of gum when i was younger..id just chew it and swallow it and not even think twice. so i read online about this product called colon blow and i decided to give it a try. once i used that stuff i swear a boot came outta my behind. i moved my bowles so many times that towards the end it was bloody.and raw. one log i pinched was about 17" long and a bout 1.5" wide. it truly was a sight. so anyways.you should just take a deuce and not worry about puttin stuff in your butt.
Honestly the safest way to do that is to do butt firming exercises. If you are one of those people who got jipped when butts were handed out so to speak I'd go see someone who specializes in this and have a consultation with them explaining what your dilema is. They will examine you and give you advise based upon what your current shape is - vs - where you want to be and give you straight facts on the pluses and minus's so that you have the information to make an educated, informed decision.
My guess it that any form of injection (like lip injections) would be temporary. I am sure they are legal but the results probably won't last long.
You could get butt implants

Burning of the thighs and pain of the feet.?

Answer:
more information please.

How long has it been going on? What were you doing? what makes it worse?

My first thought was sciatica.

Just saw the small amount of additional info.still thinking sciatica. most people experience it as shooting pains down back of leg like electrical jolts. Could also be neuropathies from diabetes or peripheal vascular disease.

Burning contacts!?

Do your contacts ever burn like hell when you put them in?? Mine do. Especially in the early morning.
Answer:
It may just be your eyes reacting to the morning state of your eyes, or your contact lense cleaning fluid may be too strong. Check with your optician.
mine do not burn they itch. and it is because i don't always wear them. also one time i accidently put them in backwards. my suggestion is to make sure you are probably taking care of them. example: changing the fluid in the holder, and making sure you rinse the contacts before putting them in your eye. it's amazing how many people forget to do the little things. other than that i would just graze the pain... and keep going on.. if it continues call the eye doctor.

hope this helps.

BUNYUNS?? (sp?)?

Is it worth it to get them removed b/c I've heard it was quite painful...

I had an aunt who chose to get them removed and she was in bed for days...
Answer:
I had them removed (both sides on each foot) 10 years ago. I was in a cast %26 on crutches. If I had to, I'd do it again.
My grandmother had them, and she got them removed when she was about 20 or so. She said that they were quite painful for a while but she said it was worth it.

Bunions - the bones on the sides of my big toes are sore and starting to stick out why and how r they cured?

Answer:
Commonly caused by prolonged wearing of very high heels! Unfortunately, only surgery can remove them.
They can only be cured by an operation.
you can get them chiseled down under anaesthetic, but its supposed to be very painful
There is no cure. You would have to get surgery to fix them and I've heard it's very painful and you'll literally be off of your feet for about 2 months.
Yep, surgery! Trust me!! It's painful and only going to get worse!! Get the surgery while you are at a young age b/c it's harder to recover when you are older!! Go to a podiatrist. I just went last friday- no joke. Plus the longer you wait when they do finally realign your big toe the other little toes will be pushed to the side from your big toe and it will look weird.
watch the kind of shoes you wear. Don't buy shoes that have pointed toes etc. Your toes should be natural in your shoes and not squished up. You can't cure a bunion. They are only cured by surgery
Operation, and I've heard the op is painful for weeks after.
surgery and a few weeks of recuperation.
Bunions are usually caused by tight or pointed footwear, but also appear to have an element of heredity - look at your mum or dad or gran's feet, and you'll usually see where you got the tendancy for them from!
You can slow the progression of the deformity by wearing corrective orthotics in your shoes, and there are splints to wear at night that help align your big toes properly. You can also guard against pain by keeping the 'bunion' joint mobilised - a good podiatrist will show you how.
Surgery is usually performed for pain, rather than visual appearance. The surgery has a bit of a disappointing outcome sometimes - especially if you're just looking for a chance to get back into tight shoes! You need to be realistic about what you hope to gain from the surgery - it's often enough to just change your style of footwear.
Good luck!
I had the same problem years ago and they did surgery with me. Maybe today there is a different option it was painful and I was in a cast for six weeks. I never had a problem again but talk to your doctor if maybe laser will work.
If the distortion is significant surgery is probably the only option. I certainly don't see as many of these as I used to years ago. I assume we must wear better shoes?
yeah my cousin had that, ask the doctor for an operation on severe bumble foot

Bumby head?

2 bumps at the back of my head, cant see them but touch them. I think there part of my skull?, what are they - had them for as long as i can remember.
Answer:
All normal. Most people have it too. And its not horns.

Bulimia and anorexia sucks...?

Why do i keep seeing websites and blogs promoting this. I suffered from it for a while and it saddens me to see these things promoting it.

To read kids and adults giving each other advice on the best way and methods to starvet themselves or purge sickens me.

How do they allow is to continue? And is there anything we can do to stop it?
Answer:
Create a blog about recovering from food eating disorders. Invite people who have managed to become successful at it and share their stories. That's how.
Anorexia and bulimia are the only diseases that can be spread by television. When did we ever decide that unhealthily thin women are attractive? You want to see an attractive woman? Read Runner's World. No anorexics in there!
Thats horrible. Unfortunately we cant stop things like that.
No one is forcing anyone to do anything. Just like anything else, drugs or any addiction... people will chose to do what they want, and no one forced to throw up. Its not the televisions fault, the only fault is at the person doing it.
well it is there for those who dont want to get better and not for wanna b's
no one on these sites will help ppl become anerexic or bulimic
we can start eating more :P ;). still, there is a huuuge number of people, mainly female teenagers that suffer from bulimia and anorexia. personally, it sucks for them because they have gotten into that state of emotion. we can stop it through doctors and special programs made for them, tho :).

Bruised Stitches?

I just had stitches on my pelvic area, on the bend between my leg and stomach. There are about 30 stitches, 15 in the wound, 15 out. There's bruising around the stitches, and it's only been 3 days. Is this ok?
Answer:
just put a ice pack on it for maybe 5 to 10 minutes twice a day that might help.
it was a touchy area to do the stitches and that could be why you are bruised=check in with your Dr to ease your mind
Yes

Brown streak under my fingernail. Please Help me with some answers?

I have this brown streak that almost covers half of my right thumb's fingernail. The Dermatologist told me it wasn't cancer and it's nothing I should be worry about because that brown streak can be cause by a lot of things. I am not sure if I had it since I was a little girl but I know for a fact I've had for many many years now. When my nails grow, it grows with it. What can be the cause of this brown streak if the dermatologist told me it's not cancer. Please I really need some answers.
Answer:
could just be pigment in the skin under the nail and it is showing through - like a birthmark.look on the bright side you can always paint your nails to cover it if it bothers you that bad
maybe you were picking your butt and dug out a little fudge from the factory...
A BIRTH MARK!! idk ask a doctor
Did you tear the toilet paper when wiping your poop?
maybe its like a birthmark sort of thing
Look, better under your fingernail than in your underwear. Don't stress if the doctor says its fine. Otherwise you are being a hypo.
It's probably just the pigment, nothing to worry about.
thats...I really don't know.
ask your doctor to try and find out wat it is...
I think it could posibably be driend blood from a very deep cut.Don't worry it should go away soon.As your finger nail grows it will disaper. You'll be ok if it comes back after it goes away u should see the doctor again. But it shpuld all be fine I promise.
HERE WE GO AGAIN. ok, listen, you have a nasty little virus. it's worse than the Avian Flu and AIDS.combined. I'M A DERMOTOLOGIST. WE HAVE GOT STOP THIS. YOU CAN SPREAD IT BY SHAKING ANOTHER PERSON'S HAND. DON'T SPREAD IT! THIS COULD KILL MILLIONS. BILLIONS EVEN. STAY IN YOUR HOUSE. DO NOT COME INTO CONTACT WITH THE GENERAL PUBLIC...THERE IS A POSSIBILITY YOU COULD DIE BECAUSE OF THIS. IM SO SORRY. IT'S CALLED FERMA DEMUCUTIS IT MAY KILL YOU IN A MERE MATTER OF DAYS. I DONT KNOW HOW YOU HAVE BEEN ABLE TO LIVE WITH THIS. Y-YOU MAY BE THE CURE, VISIT ME DR. SARKONIAN AT THE OKLAHOMA VALLEY RANCH LABS FOR FURTHER TESTING. YOU COULD SAVE A LIFE. ALSO YOU CAN REACH ME AT: BONERJAMZ_10@YAHOO.COM. GOD BLESS YOU.
Sometimes these streaks are fungus and can be treated with Rx drugs. Ask your doctor if that is a possibility. I have also heard of marks in the fingernails from vitamin deficiencies. Good luck on finding the cause.
Since it has been there for many years, I doubt it's a bruise or blood blister under the nail, as those would grow out with the nail. (I'm in construction and hit my fingers with my hammer once in a while. leaves a mark, but it always grows out within a month or two.)

I am not a doctor (or a dermatologist) but I would hazard a guess that your mysterious streak is a concentration of melanin in your skin in that location. (a mole or freckle in the nailbed.)

If your dermatologist told you "it's nothing.. don't worry about it" but can't tell you anything that it MIGHT be.. you might want a second opinion. (from another medical professional, of course- not the yahooligans on ByeDr.com :-)
It's probably nothing, it could be some kind of scar tissue from a wound... I dropped a glass bowl on my big toe when i was eight and it cracked the nail right down the middle. Ever since it has grown with a ridge in the middle of my toe nail. I wouldn't worry about it.

Bronchitis Sufferers? Medical professionals?

I was diagnosed with bronchitis about 7 weeks ago (will be this Friday). I don't feel ill anymore, and my cough is slowly but surely getting better.

However, my cough is always productive now and there is never more than a couple of little flecks of yellow in it now. However. I am still coughing up phlegm, it's just white now. My chest still feels tight sometimes, too.

How much longer can I expect to keep coughing? I've heard it's lasting a lot longer this year, but jeez... it's been 7 weeks. Anyone else had a similiar experience this year?

I had a chest xray and blood work (for everything under the sun it seemed) and everything was fine. All xrays were normal. Any advice on how to make this go away would be appreciated.
Answer:
With a weakened immune system, seasonal allergies could be lengthening your recovery.
Also, If you are a smoker you could have chronic bronchitis which often takes a couple of months to get over it.
Clear or whitish mucous indicates the infection is gone.
The good news is that the productive cough is freeing up your airways so you can breathe easier.
I know how miserable you must be feeling and I hope your feeling better soon!
Do you smoke cigarettes?

Broken Hip - how long to wait for operation?

My mother broke her hip last Monday - it will be at least next Monday (at the very earliest!) before the hospital says they MIGHT be able to fit her in for surgery - How long should someone expect to wait before a broken bone can be fixed.

She is in the Royal Hospital in Belfast.
Answer:
Your description is not very specific about what sort of fracture this is. However, I would strongly suggest you insist on speaking to the consultant or the senior registrar who is responsible for your mother's care to get a satisfactory explanation for the delay. Prepare a list of questions you want to ask and don't be intimidated, we pay these peoples' salaries and should expect the utmost courtesy. If you get no joy, write and deliver the letter by hand, to the Chief Executive explaining your concern. The squeakiest wheel is the one that gets the oil! Good luck and I hope your mother gets attention asap and makes a full recovery.
that depends on how severe the injury is.
I would have thought they would have dealt with it straight away otherwise they may have to break it again if it is set incorrectly. Two weeks for an operation like this sounds ridiculous to say the least. I believe here in Scotland the operation would have been done with in 48 hours.
I'm shocked to read this

I would have thought surgery would be immediate

You know just last month I visited the doc for the first time in 12 years I had to pay 拢13.70 for a prescription and told I need a physiotherapist but it's a 12 week waiting list

Isn't it a scandal and I pay over 拢260 a month in NHI payments

I hope your mum get's better real quick, start kicking up a fuss and see if anyone listens.
Please check with her doctor-I think a broken hip is serious enough for a speedy surgery unless the operating rooms are all booked up for a week-must be a small hospital.
Surgery should be done as soon as possible. My mother broke her hip years ago and didn't realize it as it was not diagnosed properly by doctors...once the doctor did discover it, she had to have her leg placed in traction to pull it out 3 inches! It was very painful and unnecessary due to the negligence of a 'renowned' surgeon.

The main danger for your mother is pneumonia setting in. It is a proven fact that elderly people that break their hips and lay around that way develop pneumonia (fatal cases). I say get the surgery as soon as possible.

Not trying to frighten you, just trying to be straightforward by sharing with you what I learned via my own mother's experience. My mom turned out just fine. I wish you and your mother the best of luck!

I agree with the others...change hospitals if at all possible! I don't know your area b/c I am in Texas, but there must be another hospital somewhere! Good luck!
That's outrageous! If that's not the BEST hospital in your area, go to the best one. I live in a small town and I wouldn't trust the docs here if I was dying! That doc sounds like he's drinking! The break will begin to repair itself immediately, and like others have said on here, it may have to be rebroken. I would surely get her to a different orthopaedist at a different hospital TODAY!

So sorry to hear about this! Wow.

Broken Finger.?

smacked something ither a HARD MASSIVE TREE or a BRICK WALL SATURDAY NYT! after a mssive arguement with a mate on my other mates 18th b'day, my RIGHT HAND Phalanx finger is looking broken to me or Sprained. or even Fractured.? i dunno and the two others fingers in the middle looking that same way how can i find out if they are broken or how do i break them loL! this pain is killing me take ajd do anything just to sort out mostly my Phalanx finger even break it silly way HELP!!
Answer:
See a Doctor for sure! You also may have nerve damage. Don`t try to fix it yourself you`ll probably do more harm than good.
I broke my toe a few months ago, you have to pretty much just tape it next to "good" fingers next to it with cotton in between. It sucks, and it took about a month to get better %26lt;3 Melanie myspace.com/thatspoiledbella
Get an xray, it's the only sure way to find out what damage has been done.

Broken a bone in my ankle - any advice from others?

I was in ER yesterday, and they have referred me to a foot bone doctor today. They want me to go back to work tomorrow. Since it is my right ankle, I do not think I can drive either. Any suggestions on how to get to feeling better sooner? They said it often takes 4-6 weeks to heal, but I have heard from a few people to make certain I am able to do something before I try to use my foot. How in the world do I tell I am ready to use the ankle before I try it? The ER thought I might be able to drive with this, but should I? Any helpful advice is deeply appreciated!
Answer:
Broken Ankle Rehabilitation Exercises

Wait for clearance from your physician before performing any of these exercises. Moving a broken ankle before healing has taken place may delay healing or cause additional damage.

Towel stretch: Sit on a hard surface with your injured leg stretched out in front of you. Loop a towel around the ball of your foot and pull the towel toward your body keeping your knee straight. Hold this position for 15 to 30 seconds then relax. Repeat 3 times.
Standing calf stretch: Facing a wall, put your hands against the wall at about eye level. Keep the injured leg back, the uninjured leg forward, and the heel of your injured leg on the floor. Turn your injured foot slightly inward (as if you were pigeon-toed) as you slowly lean into the wall until you feel a stretch in the back of your calf. Hold for 15 to 30 seconds. Repeat 3 times. Do this exercise several times each day.
Standing soleus stretch: Stand facing a wall with your hands at about chest level. With both knees slightly bent and the injured foot back, gently lean into the wall until you feel a stretch in your lower calf. Once again, angle the toes of your injured foot slightly inward and keep your heel down on the floor. Hold this for 15 to 30 seconds. Return to the starting position. Repeat 3 times.
You can do the next 5 exercises when your physician clears you to perform range of motion and strengthening exercises.

Ankle range of motion: Sitting or lying down with your legs straight and your knee toward the ceiling, move your ankle up and down, in and out, and in circles. Only move your ankle. Don't move your leg. Repeat 10 times in each direction. Push hard in all directions.
Resisted dorsiflexion: Sit with your injured leg out straight and your foot facing a doorway. Tie a loop in one end of the tubing. Put your foot through the loop so that the tubing goes around the arch of your foot. Tie a knot in the other end of the tubing and shut the knot in the door. Move backward until there is tension in the tubing. Keeping your knee straight, pull your foot toward your body, stretching the tubing. Slowly return to the starting position. Do 3 sets of 10.
Resisted plantar flexion: Sit with your leg outstretched and loop the middle section of the tubing around the ball of your foot. Hold the ends of the tubing in both hands. Gently press the ball of your foot down and point your toes, stretching the tubing. Return to the starting position. Do 3 sets of 10.
Resisted inversion: Sit with your legs out straight and cross your uninjured leg over your injured ankle. Wrap the tubing around the ball of your injured foot and then loop it around your uninjured foot so that the tubing is anchored there at one end. Hold the other end of the tubing in your hand. Turn your injured foot inward and upward. This will stretch the tubing. Return to the starting position. Do 3 sets of 10.
Resisted eversion: Sit with both legs stretched out in front of you, with your feet about a shoulder's width apart. Tie a loop in one end of the tubing. Put your injured foot through the loop so that the tubing goes around the arch of that foot and wraps around the outside of the uninjured foot. Hold onto the other end of the tubing with your hand to provide tension. Turn your injured foot up and out. Make sure you keep your uninjured foot still so that it will allow the tubing to stretch as you move your injured foot. Return to the starting position. Do 3 sets of 10.
You may do the rest of the exercises when you can stand on your injured ankle without pain.

Heel raises: Balance yourself while standing behind a chair or counter. Raise your body up onto your toes and hold it for 5 seconds, then slowly lower yourself down. Repeat 10 times. Do 3 sets of 10.
Standing toe raises: Stand with your feet flat on the floor, rock back onto your heels and lift your toes off the floor. Hold this for 5 seconds. Do 3 sets of 10.
Single-leg balance: Stand without any support and attempt to balance on your injured leg. Begin with your eyes open and then try to perform the exercise with your eyes closed. Hold the single-leg position for 30 seconds. Repeat 3 times. When you have mastered this, try doing this exercise standing on a pillow.
Jump rope: Jump rope landing on both legs for 5 minutes, then on only the injured leg for 5 minutes.
i drove myself to the doctor last time i sprained my ankle. you should be ok to drive and work as long as you are not standing on it all day just remeber to elevate every night while sleeping and as much through out the day to ensure healing. and dont forget any other instructions the doctor gave you he did this to help you and believes that you are going to be fine working if he released you. this will help.
Well, whether you can drive depends largely on which bone is broken. There are quite a few in there, and sometimes using it won't cause further damage.

Just to be safe, I'd try to get a ride to the orthopedist's office. They'll be able to tell you when it's safe to use your foot.
If the bone is BROKEN, regardless which bone, you should NOT be driving, working or putting any weight on it for at least 6 weeks. You should also be in plaster [of paris] to assist the setting of the bone and eventual healing. At the expiration of the six weeks, if unsure of the 'healing' then a further x-ray should be taken for verification of the mend, at which time a physiotherapist or occupational therapist should be setting some exercises for your recovery to full working capacity.
